You know back in the day I was pretty rough on WPTZ morning anchor Michelle Mortenson. Remember when she did mornings on WPTZ with weather guy Jim Moore. She was awful, but I have to say she much much better now, and she has a new look. The only question I have is how much hairspray do you use Michelle. God it looks like I could ski jump off that. I not trying to be mean but my family brought it up to me the other night, I’m just asking is all. Overall you are doing a very good job, now if we could just Matt Hobbs to stop trying to be funny. Matt, you are probably a nice guy but you are not funny. Gus help me here.
Ed Shamy is back. He just bought the weekly newspaper out of Enosburg Falls the County Courier I just read his first column and he has not lost his touch. All our fans in Enosburg Falls please support Ed and his family and advertise and buy his paper. .
One of my favorite new shows is Chuck Monday nights on NBC. Monday’s 8-9. The only problem, it goes against one of my other favorite shows, How I Met Your Mother. Here is the good news, my wife just upgraded our Comcast package which comes with a DVR player so I can record the show I can’t watch live. Here’s even better news, we are getting the bundle package. We already have TV and internet, now we are getting the phone service which means we also get the movie Channels and the NFL network. I am a lucky man.

He wants your nuts
Alright, I admit, there are somethings I like about this time of the year! Holidays!! After today, I have 2 days off, 3 days on and 4 days off. Not to bad. Don't get me wrong, I do love my job but it is good to get away for a bit and decompress. Yea, I'm doing a remote at McDonald's in Plattsburgh tomorrow, but that's my second home so I don't really count it as work. Plus 3 hours of non stop Diet Cokes. I think I'm going to start a group of McDonald's Diet Coke drinkers. I have run into some many people that think the same way I do. It's McDonald's Diet Coke or nothing.
This is too funny. I am looking out my window right now at our engineering part of the building and I can see a squirrel inside climbing up and down the window. He just destroyed the shade. ha ha ha ha. I think he is looking for my overnight guy Mike Hawk. Say that 3 times fast. Mike Hawk, Mike Hawk, Mike Hawk. Get it!! ha ha ha ha

Ramble On
I just figured out that the real loser in all the bets between Rich and Mary, ME!!! I am the one that video's them when they lose, so when it was 20 degrees with a wind chill of zero yesterday, not only did Rich have to stand outside, but so did I. Damn it's to cold to soon. The average high for this time of the month is 43. The high yesterday was 25. Who can I blame? I want to blame someone, but who? I want to blame Messner but how can you blame anyone with such a cute smile. Sharon Meyer? She's not even a meteorologist. Karen Jeriman? She went to Lyndon State my alma mater. Who's left? How about that guy on Channel 5 who is always doing those feedback segments, Paul Sands? I mean he is a goof but I can't really blame him? It's gotta be someones fault, right? Governor Douglass? Bernie Sanders? Sarah Palin. That's it, Sarah Palin, why not. From here on out, all things bad get blamed on Sarah Palin, or Rush the fat ass pill popping Limbaugh. E. I. B. network, excellence in broadcasting my ass. Extreme Idiot Big ass is more like it. I am so proud that our group of radio stations no longer airs that hate spewing bigot. He is right where he belongs.

25
For many years, November 15th was a special date. That was the date in 1983 that one of my former favorite radio stations came on the air. 25 years. I was not there at the beginning of it but I certainly was there when it was at its best. I’m talking about my former station, the wizard, a shell of what it was in its glory years. The true glory years. When people like Joel Bolton and Late Kate and The Rocker, Bill Corbeil worked there. Other names that come to mind, Nancy Masino, Mike Luoma, Tom Van Zant, Ian Kelly, Elise Brown, Mike Calhoun, Rich Haskell, Mike Wilhide, Steve Dodge, Mary Williams and yea even Arty. Those were truly the great years. Inept management and owners who only cared about the bottom line started its downward spiral. One by one key members of the staff left or where fired. Only Dave Marshall remains and they have buried him at night. Wizn is a far cry from what it was. During the glory years of 1986-1997, WIZN ruled Burlington Radio, now it is lost in the middle of the pack that I can’t even see it in Champ’s rearview mirror. Very sad to see something you loved and cared so much about go into the crapper. The staff, who have no clue what great radio is now celebrate on the hard work of so many who are not even around anymore. So you go ahead and pat yourself on the back for being a part of the destruction of a once great radio station.

Dan is not the man
How about those Bruins. Big win last night over Montreal. I know that Tim Thomas did not play last night but he has the best goals against average and best save percentage in the NHL. Go Timmy. I always like it when 2 former Catamounts get together like Wednesday night. Patrick Sharp had a penalty shot in OT against Tim and the Bruins and Thomas stoned him. The Bruins won in a Shootout. Tim has done the same against St Louis and Perrin a few years back in Boston. Great moment.
The TV show about the basketball coach who did a radio show (remember that guy) is moving forward. I am about 20 other people and the coach met with the Producer and writer of the show. NBC has bought the rights and the project moves forward. It it all works out you could see it on NBC in the fall of 2009. Wouldn't that be something. By the way you can see the coach on ESPN starting new week. I believe Monday and Tuesday and then most of Thanksgiving week as well.
By the way, 2010 has been declared the year of the Corm. Vote early and vote often

My nose is dripping
I have decided to run for Governor of Vermont. Why not. It can't be any harder then the job I have right now. Show up everyday. The only difference is cut a few ribbons and go to a few more Chicken dinners. The good news is I like Chicken and could eat if several times a day. There are MacDonald's all over the state so I can get my Diet Coke. I would take less money then the current governor and I would promise to show up everyday and work with everyone. The only other thing, can I drive the car?
Of course I say this in complete frustration with the lack of anything that gets done in Montpelier. I am not a psychic, but I play one on radio. You watch, in two years the same issues we have now will still not be solved and the 2 years cycle of the blame game will begin. By the way, we all pay for this stalemate. The older I get the more this style of blame the other guy politics irritates me. Democrat, Republican, Independent, we are still all Americans. Why can't we drop the BS and sit in a room and just get it done. So Gov, Senator, House person, you are officially on notice, get something done or I am running in 2 years.
