Giants lose...ha ha ha ha

I love the fact that the New York football Giants lost in their playoff game today. I am a Cowboy and Patriot fan so it is with some satisfaction that the Giants will not go to the Superbowl this year. Don't tell me your team went further then mine because it doesn't matter. They are done just like my teams are!
How about those UVM hockey cats. The hockey team took 3 of 4 points this weekend from Boston College. A tie and win in two games had us on the edge of our seats, especially the Friday night tilt. My favorite player is Peter Lenes. He is a little dynamo
The real reason for my blog today is our Governor. I have always said that I like Jim Douglass. He is a good guy and has served out state for many many year, but some of his comments and suggestion lately trouble me. The article in today's Free Press hit it right on the nose. He comes up with these ideas that come out of left field, doesn't talk to anyone about them for feedback, doesn't work with anyone to find consensus and then complains. What really concerns me is his proposal on schools and school budgets. In a tough year he is scaring people and what will happen is that school budgets across our state will take a hit because of his scare tactic. I urge the Democrats in the house and Senate to ignore him over the next two years and take control of the dialogue and decisions in Montpelier. You have the numbers to get what you need done and you are veto proof as well. There is no better time to do this than right now. If the Governor doesn't want to work together and move the state in the right track it is the duty of the house and senate Democrats to take charge.
By the way, do not vote for any candidate running for Mayor of Burlington who does not approve of a waterfront Hotel and Convention center. It's needed and will bring more business to our area and right now that is what we need.
